Verified, not just claimed

Credentials, and exactly how to verify them yourself

A credential you cannot check is a claim. Every item below is listed with what it actually certifies, who issues it, and the independent route to confirming it — most of which are free and take under two minutes. Where a number has not been published here yet, the page says so rather than filling the space.

The record

What Corben holds

Two credentials belong to Corben as an individual; the rest belong to Hogan Roofing, the company he owns and operates. The distinction matters, and this page keeps them apart on purpose.

Individual credential

CPRC — Certified Professional Roof Contractor

A designation awarded by the Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Contractors Association (FRSA) to contractors who score 90% or higher on the state roofing trades exam. Corben scored 98%. Fewer than 60 roofing professionals in Florida hold the designation.

  • Issuing body Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Contractors Association (FRSA), the statewide roofing trade association.
  • Threshold 90% on the Florida roofing trades exam.
  • Corben's score 98%.
  • Certificate number Certificate number to be published here
  • How to verify Ask for the certificate, then confirm it with FRSA directly as the issuing body. Do not accept a screenshot as verification of anything.

What the designation tests

Individual credential

Florida roofing contractor licence

Roofing contractors in Florida are licensed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) through the Construction Industry Licensing Board. A certified roofing licence is issued to an individual, who may then qualify a business to contract under it. The licence is the legal foundation everything else sits on.

  • Issuing body Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).
  • Corben's individual licence record Licence number to be published here
  • How to verify Search the free public DBPR licence search by name or licence number. The record shows licence type, status, expiry, and the business qualified under it.
  • What to look for Status "Current, Active", a licence category that covers roofing, and a qualified business name matching the company on your contract.

Until that number is published here, verify the company you would actually be hiring — Hogan Roofing, licence CCC1335396 — using the same search.

Company licence

Hogan Roofing — CCC1335396

Hogan Roofing is the Winter Springs company Corben owns and operates with his father Brad, and it performs roofing work in Central Florida under Florida roofing contractor licence CCC1335396. This is the number that belongs on a permit application and on any contract you sign for work.

  • How to verify Enter CCC1335396 in the DBPR licence search and read the record yourself. It takes about a minute and costs nothing.
  • Cross-check The licence number on the DBPR record, the number printed on your written estimate, and the number on the permit application should all match.

Hogan Roofing

Insurance and workers' compensation

Florida licensure requires contractors to maintain general liability coverage and to carry workers' compensation or hold a valid exemption. No carrier or policy detail is published on this site, because an insurance certificate is only meaningful when it comes to you directly from the source — a screenshot proves nothing about what is in force today.

  • Request a certificate of insurance naming you as certificate holder, sent to you by the agent or carrier rather than forwarded by the contractor.
  • Confirm the dates — the policy must be in force for the whole period your job will run, not merely on the day you asked.
  • Check workers' compensation status through the Florida Division of Workers' Compensation's public coverage and exemption search. An uninsured injury on your roof is a risk that can land on your property.

Owens Corning Preferred Contractor

Hogan Roofing is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor. This is a manufacturer programme, not an examination: it means the company meets Owens Corning's requirements for licensing, insurance, and standing, and installs their systems to specification — which is what makes enhanced system warranties available on qualifying installations.

  • How to verify Search the company on the Owens Corning contractor directory.
  • What it is not A substitute for a licence, and not a guarantee of workmanship. It is a supply-and-specification relationship, and it is genuinely useful for exactly that reason.

Google Guaranteed, and trade associations

Hogan Roofing is a Google Guaranteed business, which means Google ran its own licence and insurance screening before granting the badge — an independent check, and the reason the badge is a reasonable first-pass signal on any contractor. The company is also a member of FRSA and of the Tile Roofing Industry Alliance.

  • How to verify Google Guaranteed Look for the green badge on the business's Google listing. Google displays it only while the screening is current, so it fails closed.
  • How to verify membership Contact the association. Membership is a signal of engagement with the trade — it is not, and does not claim to be, a competence test.
Why two fields are blank

We publish numbers we can stand behind, and nothing else

Two fields on this page — Corben's individual DBPR licence number and his CPRC certificate number — are marked as pending rather than filled in. That is deliberate. Both are checkable against a registry by anyone who cares to look, and a number that is wrong by one digit is worse than no number at all: it sends a homeowner to someone else's record and quietly destroys the trust the page was built to earn.

They will appear here as supplied, exactly as issued. In the meantime, everything you actually need to vet the people who would do work on your home is already above: the company licence number, the free state search that confirms it, the insurance verification route, and the issuing body for the designation.

The same standard applies to the rest of this site. There are no testimonials here, no star ratings, and no project statistics — not because there is nothing good to say, but because anything in those categories that has not been independently verified is decoration, and decoration is what you are trying to see past when you are deciding who to trust with a roof.

Two minutes, no cost

Verify any Florida roofer

  1. Search the licence on the DBPR portal; confirm status and the qualified business.
  2. Request a certificate of insurance directly from the carrier or agent.
  3. Confirm the permit will be pulled in the contractor's licence, not yours.
  4. Get the full scope in writing before any deposit changes hands.
